I used to have paradise jetstart 128k. I now have Orcon UBS 256k. It is
worse! higher latency, max speed outside NZ in the order of 64k.
Previously when I had a bittorrent going I would absolutely saturate the 128k connection, and be lucky to get any other traffic in or out. Now
its like its deliberately leaving 3/4 of my bandwidth for headroom. But
its not only bad on bittorrent, also general browsing, downloading
iso's, the works.
I use gentoo linux and download a lot of files from
http://linux.jetstreamgames.co.nz . That, and it seems most other nz
sites go fine.
I am using a DSE XH7916. Nothing has changed except my login name and
password.
Should I be gathering firm statistics and moaning to orcon, or is this
just par for the UBS course?
