Orcons UBS woes just got worse?

Hi Folks,
As many of you will know Orcon are having problems with overloaded
links between them and Telecom that supply the UBS traffic. Last night
at just after 7pm this link appeared to failed completely and came back
at 6am this morning. No, I did not try and ring Orcon since I assumed
they would be deluged with calls.

Anyone else notice the outage?

Trace route stopped at my router but the link was still 'up'.

BTW my first post was bounced because it was signed.
taboo header: /^[Cc]ontent-[Tt]ype: multipart\/signed;*/

Is this intentional?

Russell

I've had other outages... one about a week or so ago -- but last night
my connection was fine, no problems at all. I guess this was a
localized fault.

Last I checked the orcon page had no System messages on the web site.
ie the congestion message was gone.
Perhaps that means the outage for you Russell was related to switching your
connection to another Frame/Bus which has been foreshadowed.

Cheers

I beleive it is. I had the same problem and the response was something to do
with keeping the bandwidth to a minimum. Could be wrong, the owner sets the
rules...
