Jetstream avilability in Linden, Wellington

Hello all, we are moving houses in a couple of weeks. We rang Telecom
about moving our jetstream connection to the new place and were told that
it might not be available there. Something to do with the exchange. Does
anyone on this list live in Linden and have jetstream?

Oddly enough, the Tawa exchange (jetstream enabled) is closer to our new
place than our old place where we got a very strong jetstream signal.

DSL works fine in Tawa. Don't know about Linden sorry - but if you want to
play - CafeNet is available in Tawa and can reach down into Linden. I live
at the other end of the valley and I'm slowly getting it closer to home......

We're in Tawa at the moment and Jetstream is loud and clear. CafeNet is
too rich for my blood. $80 for 350Mbytes? Errrr, no thanks. I'm after a
full-time high speed connection.

Sorry, should've have written that a bit clearer. We currently live
further away from the exchange than where we are moving to.

I looked up the phone numbers of some Linden businesses which are further
away from the exchange and according to the Telecom line checker they are
connectable. So fingers crossed. :-)

Closer how?

You may be physically closer, but the lines may have been layed in a
manner that makes linden closer.
