How does one go about getting an ADSL account checked if its not Xtra?

I'm with Paradise and have Jetstream Plus. Last billing month I went over my
10gb and had my connection limited back to 64k.
Yesterday my new month started and full speed resumed.
Today I was knocked back to 64k again, but have only used 160mb of data.
Paradise says its a Telecom issue and I must contact them.
Telecom says I must contact my ISP.

Stuck in a loop here.

Does anyone have a Telecom phone number that will lead me to someone who knows
whats going on?
I cant find any relevant numbers on their website or in the phone book..

Cheers
Chris.

While I hate to say it, Telecom is in the right here and the advise you
received from Paradise / TelstraClear is, uh.. incorrect.

If you have any concerns about the speed please call your ISP (Xtra
customers please call 0800225598).

Ah the joys of theory vs practice.

In theory you should only over call your ISP.
In practice your ISP is being dumped upon by Telecom from such a great
height that they want you to ring Telecom for them as they are so fed up
with getting little/no responce from any calls they themselves make.

I had a Major ADSL issue about 3 weeks ago. 5 minutes after I get a
senior Telecom rep on the phone it is fixed (magically i belive) and
hasn't occured again. Orcon could get no details out of Telecom other
than "there is a nationwide issue with no eta".

Sad sorry state of affairs.

Your ISP should be willing to log a fault on your behalf - thats their
job. They shouldn't have bounced you, especially if you indicated to them
that you're 'doing the loop'.

Otherwise the Jetstream helpdesk @ Telecom are an option, but should not
be your _first_ option.

I found some phone details @
http://www.telecom.co.nz/chm/0,5123,203141-202581,00.html#contact which
may work for you. Search is a wonderful thing :-)

Cheers
