I use the (blink) D-Link DSL-504G and most of the features in the
web interface can not be accessed using any Linux browsers. The only
browser that will work properly is IE.If I have to make changes to the
web interface,I have to do so with my daughters Win 98 computer.
It's possible you might have similar problems with the 200.

Actually USB modems/routers rarely have web interfaces and generally need drivers for support (which this modem apparently has).

It is interesting that their interface is so poorly designed tho. I wonder how common this is. My M1122 has no problem with FireFox (on Windows but don't see any reason why it matters) and someone else I know using an Aztech 300E (not in NZ) (it's a bit crappy in some ways so I did wonder if it would work) also has no problem with FireFox.

_Actually_ In the case of the USB D-Link Routers, they use a web
interface, and not a driver, so the original author is correct.

When used via Ethernet they function as a conventional router.
When used via USB they set up a virtual network interface using software
supplied (I guess you could call that a driver) and from a system point of
view they're then a router, configured the same way as the router would be
normally.

Also for the record, Xtra also offer packages based around D-Link DSL
Devices, the DSL-302G (USB/Ethernet type), DSL-504G (Router type with 4
ports), and DSL-604T (504 functionality + WAP, runs on a cut down Linux
Kernel too i believe).
Unfortunately i've never had opportunity to try any of the above with
alternate web browsers, but I do have to agree that making these things
IE-Only is bad form. I do believe that at least the 604T has a Console,
the others probably do as well? Its been a little while since I played
with any of them...
Mark.

Very strange.

Using Win98se,I downloaded and installed the latest versions
of Opera,Netscape,Mozilla and Firefox and none of them can
use all the features of the DSL-504G web-admin,ditto with
Linux.

Originally I thought I had a faulty router,so I asked IHUG
for another router,I encountered the same problems:ie. I can
not use the left-hand menu in the web interface. The web
wizard works fine,as does the top menu, but not the left-hand
menu.

I did read on NZLUG of similar reports (people complaining about it working only working on IE and others saying FireFox was fine). It's possible this is a firmware issue. I suggest you e-mail each other with what firmware versions your using, and then if either of you are willing, do upgrades/downgrades to see if this helps/causes the problem to occur. Also do either of yours show signs of being custom firmware? E.g. does your webinterface say Ihug anywhere?
