Here goes a 400,000:1 shot.

I'm interested in moving to Sovereign Place, Hillcrest, Auckland.

My problem is no one knows any prior telephone numbers or names of
people who have resided at the address, so I can't see if JetStream is
available.

So by any chance, does anyone know anyone who lives in this street, so I
can run their phone number through the JetStream checker and see if
JetStream is at least available in the area?

Checked a couple of numbers on this street (one low, one as high as I
could find) and both should be ok for ADSL. BTW you'll be running off
Birkenhead exchange. If you move ask the Telecom rep to give you a
number from Birkenhead 3 switch as this is a 61E, as opposed to
Birkenhead 2 which is only a 61K (61E's support more services should you
want them)

Cheers

Paul

There is no substitute to door knocking....

Go and knock on the neighbours door, if he answers the door armed with a
shotgun you may get a clue that the availability of Jetstream is not the
biggest issue in the street.

Just because Telecom's site may say Jetstream is available it doesn't mean
that Jetstream will work "in the real world".

I am in the market for a new house, some prospective houses have been passed
over due to the horror story of a neighbour trying to get a decent broadband
connection.

Cheers

ps..
In the Big Brother department

sign up at www.qv.co.nz

Look for a recent sale in the street, this will give you the new owners
name...

Look this up @ www.whitepages.co.nz, this gives you the phone number

Also the GIS viewer @ http://publicgis.northshorecity.govt.nz/ shows that
Sovereign Place is not far from the Glenfield Exchange.
