Hi all,

My old and trusty DSE XH1149 router looks like it is about to turn
up it's toes after 4 years of faithful serve. Locks up every couple
of hours and looses DSL. Have to repower to get going again.

Looking at the DSE site I find a single port XH1173 for $$40.00.
Looking at the user guide it is the same set up as my existing one
and the other is the 4 port XH9949 at $68.

Has Any one gotten any comments on these good or bad.

Tomorrow nite I will reset the old one back to default just incase
there is some setting corrupted in it.

I still have my less than trusty old Dynalink RTA020 as an emergence backup..

Thanx in advance..

Regards,

Paul Warner

Something that u may wish top consider...
I changed to telsra a month or so ago.... and have had a Cisco 827 been
using since 1999.
Downloads between 1500 and 2500 on xtra pro.
I didnt have the time to reconfig the cisco, and had a spare D-Link dsl-504g
router...
This immedatly is pulling 5600 to 6000 down....
I have known, even with old copper lines we can handle full speed because
many yrs ago with a 'contact' for a weekend things got changed at the
exchange.

I also have a spare 3com model WL-542 (sticker on the bottom)
3CRWDR100A-72 (model number on the front)
This also gives me only 2000 to 3000 downloads

Reconfiged the Cisco, hooked that in and also only gives 2000 to 2700.
Swapped them around several times over a week...consistant results...
Tests taken on 3 diff machines on the network here, all hard wired (no
wireless) from several test sites, including telecom and speedtest.net
I do not know why..

Maybe something to consider when choosing a router.
