Hi Cuong,

You could start by looking at various manufacturers chipsets.

ADSL modems are highly integrated and the chipset manufacturers provide all the drivers.

Have a look around the webs sites of TI, Globespan-virata and Siemens/Infineon for example.

Regards
Gordon

Are you sure this is true for USB ADSL modems, which tend to
be bridge modems not routers I believe. Not totally sure
about this however since in other countries, there tends to
be a lot of bridge ethernet modems and they tend to be the
mostly widely used but in NZ, this doesn't seem to be true
based on feedback from this group.

In any case, I seem to recall someone mentioning an open
source USB modem drivers a few days ago in regard to the
question about the best modem for Linux. This would seem to
be a good starting point if one has some basic understanding
of using the USB port & ADSL modems.

It seemed to me that the original request was about modem architecture and the desire to write firmware for a modem.
More to do with building a modem. I may be wrong.
